Why I Walk
March 12, 2009 is a day I will never forget. It’s the day I was diagnosed with MS. Suddenly, my life was filled with uncertainty about how this disease would impact my future. Within days of my diagnosis, I learned of the 2009 MS Walk and decided to participate. Participating in the walk allowed me to feel like I was fighting back– not just for me, but for all of us who have been diagnosed with this unpredictable disease. Today, there is still no cure for MS but research is progressing and your donation will help.
Why We Fight MS
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that affects the central nervous system. The disease course is unpredictable and there is no known cause or cure. Approximately 200 people are diagnosed each week. Joining the Movement with hundreds of thousands of people across the country is an experience like no other. We walk to keep moving towards a cure!
Why You Should Sponsor Me
I’m lucky…my MS symptoms have been mild and my day to day activities have been minimally impacted. But, the uncertainty is scary and not everyone with MS is as lucky as I’ve been. Financial support is needed for research and to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS. With your help, we are getting closer to the day when no one will have to hear the words, “You have MS.”
