Welcome to March, The Sophie House and Women’s History Month!
We are looking at how we help women become #SophieStrong. As The Sophie House grows, so do our programs, events and level of client assistance. Many of you may not really know that Sophie is not a person, but the acronym of our Founder’s vision for the organization.
- – SALVATION AND STRENGTH
- – OPTIMISM
- – POTENTIAL AND PERSEVERANCE
- – HOPE AND HEALING
- – INTEGRITY
- – EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT
As you can see, these words really encompass what we do to help single women and single mothers here at The Sophie House. We can’t wait to see how you can be a part of The Sophie House and tell us about women you know that are #SophieStrong-follow us on Facebook and Instagram and use #SophieStrong.
“I am usually an optimistic person and try to be positive but at some low points, I didn’t know where to turn. I appreciate being able to ask for help in a place that gives you a hand up.”
Let’s support our Sophie Women
Help The Sophie House participants keep moving forward through encouragement and support. Many of these women are in need of services like counseling and financial assistance to get back on track. Your regular monthly donations or one time donations can help with recurring counseling sessions, child care subsidy, classes and more!
We would welcome your monthly contribution to help provide the funding for these important services The Sophie House provides to our clients.
“Thank you for your work with moms. Thank you for your listening ear. Thank you for being gentle, kind, and thoughtful… I have had my share of highs and lows and I want to thank you for your part in helping me and my boys succeed!”

Service Spotlight & A HUGE Thank You to Angela, #SophieStrong
Angela is a mother of an active 4-year-old boy and is working on her masters degree, while working part-time, and volunteering to facilitate our Community Center Bible Study.
Angela came to us about a year and a half ago after looking online for some encouragement and services to help her manage a single parent household. She has been working hard along the way, and has been connecting with us from time to time. We are so happy she has found her passion in helping other women get back on track! Thank you so much Angela!!
“I am so appreciative for your guidance and help through such difficult times in my life. You are a blessing, and I will never forget how you stepped in and helped in more ways than you could imagine! You are truly one in a million!”
