This is Chapter Two of a long journey through Life and we hope we can make a positive impact by addressing Basic Life Skills first

– “WHEN ALL IS LOST, THINK AGAIN! or LOOK IN THE STRANGEST PLACE FOR THE CORRECT SOLUTION”

-Many years back Fred Smith, after graduating from Yale and serving two tours in the Army, decided in 1971 to start a company that followed the path in had written about in 1962 while still in College and even the Professor thought Fred was daydreaming. So in 1971 Fred put his family’s savings of $4 Million USD into a business delivering packages overnight around the World.

He was able to raise another additional $90 Million and things were doing pretty well, but things reversed as the cost of oil and fuel jumped very high and the company came down totaling killing their cash flow. Fred Smith tried with no results to borrow $1M USD and all doors closed. It was a Friday, the planes had to fly on Monday, no money for fuel, Fred picked up his last $5,000, went to Vegas, played Black Jack. Monday morning, he was back in the office, with $32,000.00 in his pocket and recounts that in his heart he knew that he only needed a few more days to turn the company around.
He proved to be correct. In a couple of weeks he secured a new loan for $11 Million and the rest is history. The company today has around 697 planes flying around the world delivering packages on time. FEDEX is the second largest airline company in the world with more than $25B USD on sales per year.

Does this column tell you to go out and gamble your last penny and try to lose it so you keep yourself going? No we are only retelling a real story that proves that in face of a very bad situation, you need to analyze it cautiously and logically. Put all Pro and Cons together. Then from there you need to take action, even if this action is dangerous and scary, but you have to ponder everything in detail and then jump into action, focusing in the outcome without stopping. Look for the solution to the problem not in a place that is conventional and probably the solution cannot be found there but go into all areas specially unconventional and out of the box solutions. You never know, whatever scares you and gets you out of your comfort zone, will probably prove that after all there was a solution to the problem.

You have to fight as hard as you can to make sure you stay afloat with the vision of the success to come. Never stop believing in your decisions, never stop believing in your vision!

BE OPEN TO ALL IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS THAT FIT YOUR PROBLEM EVEN IF THOSE LOOK LIKE TOTALLY CRAZY!
Until next time.
