ENTREPRENEURIAL EVENTS FOR SBSD – ALL FREE TO ATTEND!

I am Randy Brown, the Business Services Manager (Central and South Virginia) with the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity. I’ve attached links that will take you to descriptions of various workshops and 1 on 1 business sessions I will be conducting in the month of October throughout my region. These workshops are designed to help you grow your business with the Commonwealth. All of the workshops sponsored by the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity are free of charge, however, registration is required.

3.    Click on Events

4.    Scroll down to “Central / South” region

5.    Click the “button to the right of September to advance to October events

6.    Locate the event you wish to attend, access the page and register

One on One Business Consults

These 90 minute sessions are designed to help businesses like yours better understand how to do business with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Whether it’s helping your business become certified in Virginia’s small business set-aside programs (SWaM and Micro), navigating the electronic procurement portal (eVa) which ALL state agencies use for solicitations, or helping you connect with key agency buyers these sessions can help!

 

Lynchburg – Oct. 1

SWaMming Lessons

 

Danville – Oct. 22

SWaM (Small, Women, and Minority owned firms) certification is one of the most powerful business tools you can use to grow your sales among state agencies, public colleges and universities, local municipalities. Even private sector firms are utilizing the SWaM database. Last year, the Commonwealth of Virginia spent more than $6 Billion on goods and services. For every $100 the Commonwealth spent on goods and services, $37, went to a SWaM certified vendor. Are you getting your share? Bring you documents and we’ll complete the process.

eVa Personal Training

Last year, the Commonwealth of Virginia spent more than $6 Billion on goods and services. Goods and services that you probably sell! Are you getting your share??? EVa is the electronic portal ALL state buyers use when making a purchase.

This free “hands on” workshop will walk you through the eVa system as it pertains to your specific business.
